Our Projects/Programs
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Program

Tree planting program: "With each tree we plant, we will reclaim and sustain our environment, and pass it to the next generation in good state.

Combating Deforestation and Sustaining Biodiversity

We utilizes solar power as a replacement for fuel generators. This switch to renewable energy demonstrates their commitment to reducing their environmental impact and combatting global warming.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Waste management system that limits uncontrolled disposal of dangerous chemicals and emphasizes recycling of materials.

Minimizing Waste

We offer genetic testing for diet choices and sporting to promote health eating and exercising which translate to improved health and  wellbeing. A clinic, carteen  and sporting facilities are available to support staff in undertaking  health and wellbeing activities.

MSc Pharmaceutical Medicine

Graduates from this degree are expected to contribute towards the design, discovery, development, manufacturing, regulation and rational use of medicines in combating the high morbidity and mortality on the continent. It answers the call for Africa to be self-reliant  in medical products and services

MSc Genomics and Precision Medicine

The program will prepare the students to champion genomics and bioinformatics based solutions for healthcare in Zimbabwe and beyond. The programme focuses on three thematic areas namely; technology platforms, data science

and clinical implementation. This will enable them to discover disease biomarkers, develop diagnostic tests  and

implement  personalized medicine,

Some Memorable Projects

ZiGeP Program

We aim to sequence 50 0000 genomes of Zimbabweans as a biomedical resources for medical advances. This will include various sample types (such as blood and urine) and phenotypes (such as health, diet and life-style) in both health volunteers and selected disease cohorts. To have good national coverage, sampling of health volunteers will be done at district level. To capture important disease phenotypes, patient cohorts will be setup at referral hospitals. Towards this, we are setting up a national biobank, sequencing and bioinformatic platforms. Partnerships with government, national and international academic and industry stakeholder are being forged  to maximise the value of this initiative

Safety, Health & Environment Program

Our SHE program encompasses a wide range of initiatives focused on environmental protection, employee well-being,and community engagement. From tree planting initiatives and green energy adoption to waste management and health promotion, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on our planet and community.

Consortium for Genomics & Therapeutics in Africa

We enhance Africa's capacity for drug discovery, development, & deployment and to harness the power of genomics for improved Health in Africa. This is being pursued by building capacity for genomic medicine in selected countries in Africa, harnessing the genomic diversity of African populations to drive innovation and product development, and to implement genomics guided precision medicine.

SPARK Africa

We enable academicians to develop & commercialise pharmaceutics, vaccines, diagnostics, and other life science products in Africa, by Africans, that address Africa's unmet health needs.

This is done through identification and support of projects with scientific and technical knowhow, access to specialized resources, and seed funding to de-risk project in the product development and commercialisation value chain.
